[10]How do I approve an entry?|| When a new gravestone record is submitted, it is initially placed "On Hold". The purpose of this is to have a human verify that the text and photo are appropriate, and that a prankster doesn't upload an inappropriate photo.

Here are the approval steps

  1. Select Review Held Entries from the admin menu. (This is the default selection when you log in.)
  2. If you have entries waiting to be approved, then will be listed at the top of the screen. Click on the pencil icon to edit an entry.
  3. Verify that all fields contain appropriate content.
  4. When you have completed all changes, click the Update button.
[/10] [20]The photo that was uploaded looks funny-- can I fix it?|| It is possible that the server may have been experiencing a high load when it attempted to resize the uploaded photo. Photos that were uploaded during this time may look garbled or appear to have images overlayed.

A copy of the full-size uploaded photo is saved until a record is approved or placed in the trash. You can attempt to re-convert the orignal uploaded photo by using the photo editor.

  1. From the admin edit screen-- click on Edit Photo.
  2. On the photo editor control panel you will see a button that says:
    Reconvert Uploaded Photo (Quality): 25% 50% 75%
  3. Click on one of the quality settings to recovert the photo from it's original upload state to an optimized version.
  4. Hopefully this corrects the problem. If not-- the photo may have been garbled durring upload or it may be in a strange format.
[/20] [30]How do I update an entry I have already approved?|| There are two ways to retrieve recent approved enries.
  1. Recent Additions- If the item was recently approved you may want to click on the menu item Recent Additions. You will then see all entires approved in your county within a specific period of days.

  2. Search All Records- If you have many entries to sift through or know the specific record you are looking for, then you will want to click on Search All Records. This will allow you to search for a record based on surname, first name, submittor email address, or cemetery or comment text.
  3. Entries found through these two methods can then be edited just like new submissions.
[/30] [40]Why are there several entries for the same photo?|| There are two common situations where multiple entries appear to have the same photo. Instances such as these will create seperate searchable database entries for each name. (Database entries take up very little space)
Each database entry will reference the same uploaded photo.

This prevents a situation where 5 names are on one stone and the submittor uploads the same photo 5 seperate times. This dramatically conserves storage space on the server and reduces upload times for submittors.
[/40] [50]When should I delete an entry?|| Deleting an entry should be reserved for situations where a record is known to contain incorrect information.
